John bought a Charnwood C-Four wood burning stove for his extension when it was built in 2012. It was love at first sight; of all the things in his house it is his favourite possession. During the spring it is his only form of heating and from September, when the summer is disappearing, rather than turning on the heating system, he lights the wood burner. During the autumn and winter he keeps the heating on a very low setting and tops it up in the evening with his wood burner.
