About the Business
I first embarked on my chimney career at the tender age of 19 with an internationally acclaimed franchise called CICO, where I cut my teeth on a variety of chimney linings, fireplace fitments and stack building. I primarily learnt on the pumps and ladders to carry out cast in-situ linings and also branched out into solid fuel stainless steel flexible liners which is now my primary form of lining. After many long years and many linings, the company boss decided it was time to retire at which point the franchise was bought by a close friend who proceeded to bring the company up to date. He made me chief engineer and later a manager and director of the company. After a short while it was decided to break away from the CICO franchise and go it alone as a small elite company known as Phoenix Chimney engineering. This company continues to operate a superb service as does CICO. Due to family commitments in the form of a second child, I decided it was time to start up on my own.
