Henry later passed the business on to Joseph Rotherham senior, who also inherited his father's remarkable ability with stone and eye for detail.
Joseph Rotherham senior continued to learn and practise the traditional crafts of stone masonry until he went to serve with the Eighth Army Anti-Aircraft division in the Second World War. Returning from war he settled in East Yorkshire and built a reputation as a first class craftsman.
In 1973, Joe Rotherham junior joined him and together the father and son partnership began to expand the company their father and grandfather started. J Rotherham's technology base is now one of the largest and most advanced in the stone industry, adding efficiency and precision to our range.
